As we enter the final days of the @avec_arts x @art_work.s pop-up exhibition, "Convergence” at MITIMCo, we couldn’t think of a better artist to feature than Cyrille Conan (@cyrilleconan).
Cyrille’s site-responsive vinyl activates a long stretch of the exhibition space’s exterior windows via the exactness of geometric shapes and the vibrancy of acrylic paints.
Cyrille’s merged experiences growing up between Queens, New York and Brittany, France are revealed in his minimal yet organic geometric works. He considers his process to be a response to the intersection of two modern phenomena: the destruction of nature, and the growth of technology.
Visit #convergence on its final day, and see Cyrille’s installation, along with other artworks on view:

The connections between art and other disciplines are boundless βΎ Discover how linework can bring together reflections on medical practices, imaging technologies, and even the body through the artwork of Sophia Ainslie (@sophiaainslieart).
Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, and currently residing in Boston, MA, Sophia Ainslie works with a mix of drawing and painting in digital and analog formats and teaches at Northeastern University. Sophia’s generative, site-specific practice begins with medical imagery from which she disentangles flat planes of color. She then layers in flowing, open-ended lines defined by a thick, precise edge that acknowledges architecture and spatial design. When contrasted with the diagnostic imaging technologies from which she draws inspiration, Sophia’s practice reflects on the relationship between the interior and exterior, the microscopic and macroscopic, and body and land.

What do sculptures created from scrap metal look like? Come and find out with the exhibited works of Madeleine Lord (@madeleinelordmadimetal) or visit the @artfare link in our bio.
Madeleine Lord is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Dudley, MA. She is part of the Cambridge Art Association and the New England Sculpture Group. Madeleine’s works engage the viewer in the symbolic process of transforming lifeless and forsaken remnants into lively and fully realized beings. By seeking to make heroic art that is simultaneously ironic and joyous, she devises characters, narratives and meaning from her collection of discarded fragments.

Ever wondered how STEM fields can merge with art? Today’s artist feature is for curious minds like you!
Gupi Ranganathan (@gupiranganathan) is included in our pop-up group exhibition with @art_work.s on view through December 22.
Born and raised in India, Gupi is a painter living and working outside Boston, MA. Gupi’s artistic practice centers on the intersection of art and science, exploring how minute changes at the microscopic level can lead to existential reflections on the macrocosm. According to her: “Every mark means something. Every line means something. Every life means something. Every moment in every life means something.”
